One of one painting from "The Neighborhood” pop-up art show 3/9/2024 at The Muse on Blue Hill Ave. This painting pays homage to the No Books No Ball Program of Boston that's saved thousands of lives and has given countless children the opportunity to go on to college, overseas and the NBA. But also giving them the tools to succeed at life.
Founded in 1991, The No Books No Ball Program was developed by Anthony (Tony) Richards, Sr., a Dorchester native who wanted to provide boys and girls between the ages of six and seventeen, the opportunity to learn the game of basketball along with important life-lessons on sportsmanship and academic achievement. For over 30 years, NBNB has been committed to increasing the high school graduation rate of children from some of Boston’s toughest and underserved neighborhoods.
